My Hands Up Coach
It's Tuesday, almost seven p.m.,
I must get home ere the phone rings
I know at seven, without a wait,
I'll hear the call, it's never been late.
She's always on time, come rain or shine,
Nothing seems to get her behind.
She asks and then listens to what you say,
Always seems as if she knows how to sway
The conversation to help you think clear,
About the direction to steer your career.
What are your plans, what can you do,
How can you help do what's right for you?
Her skill at redirect
Makes you stop and recollect,
How did we get to this,
Is there something I missed?
I fail to understand
How she really plays her hand.
She makes you think about
Whether you're going in or out,
What you plan to do from here,
How you plan to go, and where.
Your career is always uppermost
And always pops up like a ghost.
